Knitting, crocheting, sewing and crafting have been with me for more than 30+ years now (oh, my, time is flying by!) and I thoroughly enjoy sharing my love for these wonderful activities.

Knitting with Beads
You don't need to be an expert to add beads and sparkle to your knitting! Join me to learn what you can do with beads in your knitting, how to choose your beads, learn to read charts and many different bead knitting techniques and their best applications.
You will create a beaded swatch to take home for future reference.
Minimum Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Length: Full-day workshop

Cables, Twists and More
Did you know that there are many different ways of creating the popular look of cables? In this class you will explore 9 different techniques for creating cables, including easy mock cables that don't involve the crossing of stitches at all, Bavarian twisted stitches, standard cables and even closed rings. Along the way you will learn how to read charts, work cables without cable needle and many more helpful tricks. You can choose to work the different techniques as a one-piece, long swatch or as separate squares that can then be assembled into a cable sampler pillow (pattern provided).

Slip Stitch Explorations
The simple act of slipping a stitch unknit from the left to the right needle can produce a mind boggling multitude of designs. You will be exploring the slip stitch knitting technique to create texture, volume, cables, and multi-colored geometric patterns, but only be working with one color at a time per row (mosaic knitting). You can even use this technique to add beads to your knitting!
Minimum Skill Level: Intermediate

Traditional & Shaped Intarsia
During the first half of this class I will introduce you to and we will practice the concepts of traditional intarsia, learn how to read charts, manage yarns, keep holes from forming at color changes, and weave in ends properly. Then we will venture into shaped intarsia, taking advantage of increases and decreases to from smooth, sweeping curves. The color change will become a design element and you will be able to not only knit pictorial but also modern art inspired designs.
Minimum Skill Level: Intermediate
Length: Full-day workshop or 2 half-day workshops

Knitting & Crocheting With Wire
Experience and learn the ins and outs of knitting and crocheting with wire. Learn how to cast on, to knit and crochet, and to bind off using wire instead of yarn. Embellish with beads and finish off your work by adding findings.
We will knit a simple beaded bracelet and wire tubes and crochet a pair of earrings and a simple beaded necklace.
Minimum Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Length: Full-day workshop or 2 half-day workshops

Closing out Closures
Learn about the many ways to close a cardigan or jacket. Learn how to choose and attach buttons, create buttonholes and buttonbands. Make ties, a frog toggle and install a zipper. After this class you will feel confident to choose and execute the perfect closure for your next cardigan project.

Useful Pockets
Learn about the different kinds of pocket styles to add function and decorative details to your next project. We will create a slit pocket with knit-in facing and install a zipper which will provide you will the know how and confidence to tackle any project that includes pockets.
